Project Overview

Initial Phase

I started this project because a friend with AuDHD was struggling with budgeting and debt management. They expressed an interest in an app that would help them budget and identify spending patterns related to impulse buying. After mulling over the idea, talking to other people with AuDHD, and sketching out some starting spots as well as the information architecture, I worked in Figma to design a relatively simple UI that would allow for tracking and management of spending.

As the design developed, I decided to take this project a step further and sat down with my trusty VSCode pets (check out that plug in if you don't have it yet, it's amazing) to build this into a functional project.

High Fidelity + Usability Testing

Experiencing the challenge of bringing a Figma prototype to life is invaluable to the UX design process. Understanding the code behind the UI changes the way I approach design challenges. It forces me to think about how some solutions may be better than others simply because it's better suited for the current build. Understanding that and working towards the best experience possible for users within a specific framework can be an incredibly important skill when working with existing sites and applications.

Usability testing is currently in progress but initial results are promising.
